Founder, Chief Scientist

Dr. Baton started Capstone Energy in 2020 to revolutionize carbon neutral transportation. His NeuFuel process for converting seawater is based on ground breaking research conducted at his lab when he was a tenured professor of chemical engineering at Castro Valley Polytechnical University.

Sylvia Campbell

Executive Director

Ms. Campbell has over two decades of financial management experience with multiple greentech startup companies. She diverged from her family oil business to focus on clean renewable energy and joined Capstone in 2023.

Martina Fiddle, PhD

Associate Scientist

Dr. Fiddle has been with Capstone Energy since its inception. She received her PhD from Castro Valley Polytechnical University, where she was the lead researcher in Dr. Baton’s laboratory.

Bella Samuels, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher

Bella joined Capstone Energy in 2023. When she’s not fighting climate change, she posts her adventures on all the socials.

Jake Nebula, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher

Jake began his postdoctoral work pursuing similar carbon neutral fuels development at Pillar Research, and joined Capstone in 2024.

Tyson Brook

Head of Security

Tyson began his decades long career as a night watchman at Montgomery Ward. He’s adapted to the cyber side of security but believes nothing beats a good lock and key.

Bert Benne

Senior Technician

Bert has worked in many process industries as a skilled technician. He is excited to finish his career working for a clean energy future for his grandkids, with whom he looks forward to spending more time when he retires in early 2025.

Ernie Street

Technician

Ernie is a relentless problem solver and has been a great asset to Capstone.

Frank Honda

Public Relations Liaison

Most recently, Frank milked vipers in Sumatra for an international NGO that created anti-venom serum for snakebite victims. He is glad to be working at Capstone, where the chances of workplace fatalities are low.
